Bricks for everyone

Clearly there is nothing more exciting than bricks, right? This was an initial photogrammetry test in Unreal Engine 4 using a displacement map and tessellation.  Not nearly as crisp as the source and a little too “bubbly” for my liking.  Using the displacement map to generate the tessellated model was suppose to make it easier to make the object repeat without seams.  Painting out the seams in the displacement map in Photoshop seemed like an easier and simpler process.  Making the model itself repeat by lining up the brick geometry seemed like an endeavor in frustration.
